Sunday Afternoons Time to Spend with Family and Friends

Isabella is back home and Ruth is thrilled.  As a consumer and Grandmother I want to thank Avonlea Traditions Inc. the makers of the Maplelea dolls.  We mailed Isabella on Monday of last week and Avonlea Traditions had her back to us on Friday a three day turnaround - that is great customer service.

I have included a link to their website if any of you are considering purchasing one of these wonderful dolls or your children or grandchildren.  We were first introduced to this doll through flyers brought home from school.

Isabella was sent back home with a personal note for Ruth.  They had taken the time to read her message to them, save it through their process and returned it with the doll.

Ruth spent some of her time at Grandma and Grandpa's house looking over the new Catalogue that arrived with Isabella
Ruth has started working on her Christmas and Birthday list already!

Last Monday afternoon James came to visit.

We spent a great afternoon together, talking, playing Sims 3 and proofing the blog for that day.

November Alexander's cat likes to sit in James lap

As James learned cats that are contented and purring often knead with their claws and James did not have the strength to push her off!
Alexander, November needs her claws cut again.

And to end todays blog post I would like to brag for while.  Robert Powell  our son-in-common-law is a very talented man and we are lucky to have him as a member of our family.  Now please don't of you tell him I said that or I will have to put up with his patting me on the head and repeating his "Ah Mom" come back over and over again - so just keep how proud I am of him a secret.

He can repair and build just about anything from garage sale shopping bags

The original jute handles broke off the day that Dianne picked it up at the garage sale.

Dare I say all of us would have tossed the bag at this point annoyed that we paid good money for something that we would never use.

Not Robert no he went to his scrap fabric bin picked out canvas scrapes and sewed new handles and I would suggest that the repair has made the bag more comfortable and stronger.

his own backpack

and his own coats he made both the tan leather jacket in the first picture with James and the long duster in the picture below
and he is fixing Paul's computer.

The great gift of family life is to be intimately acquainted with people you might never even introduce yourself to, had life not done it for you.
