The drive home took me in and out of sever thunderstorms –
sunglasses to windshield wipers.
I had
CBC on the radio and the topic was self-deception, how our internal perception
of who we are is riddled with untruths. Some
are small lies designed to either protect our egos. While others are large lies that others have
told us about ourselves and we have internalized them often to our determent.
The way to explore our self-deceptions is to look at ourselves through the eyes of trusted friends and loved ones. Listen to how people we trust describe us and the truth is somewhere in the middle.
How will your best friend describe you?
