Myrtle Beach vacation day 28 arriving home

We apologize for the late posting of this the last narrative of our 2018 Myrtle Beach vacation.  Our trip home was harrowing for a few hours and with touching base with family that we haven’t seen for a month we have been busy with the important things in life - family and self care.

We didn’t sleep very well Saturday night because of the constant hubbub of trucks pulling cars, transport trucks and buses off the highway and with the power cutting in an out most of the night.

And at 6 o’clock am we realized that the power would not be coming on and that our hotel room was cooling quickly - there was no sense in getting out of bed until sunrise when we could see to dress and pack.

On that point we have an important note to travelers - always keep a flashlight in your suitcase one for each person.

So it was that Sunday morning we packed up in a cold hotel room maneuver ourselves through black hotel hallways, down stair well we found ourselves digging out from previous nights winter storm, oh and there was no breakfast as the black out was wide spread.

We are not complaining because we had it better than most of the other travelers as we always leave our winter tires on for just such a situation.

Thus we were able to drive out of  the hotel parking lot while many others just sat there spinning they’re tires and going no where.

We drove out of the snow  four hours after leaving Wythville and arrived back home at 9:00 PM.  After notifying our children that we were safely at home we went to bed and thus ended our 2018 Myrtle Beach vacation.
