March 2016's Crochet Along on Google+

Lil' Baby Unicorn and Bobble Sheep
March was an exciting and anxious crochet month because while I have crocheted many things I have not developed my craft in the area of amigurumi.

This is a Japanese art form of knitting or crocheting small creatures.  They are three dimensional and often stuffed.

The actual word according to Wikipedia  breaks down into two parts,

ami crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi stuffed doll.

The actual March Crochet along project was Bobble Sheep.

As members of this community we all have a vote on the projects and I voted for Lil’ Baby Unicorn.

I had fun making Bobble Sheep the pattern is easy to follow, now I would recommend not using black yarn because I found I had to work in full daylight as the stitches were difficult to find.

Once I had mastered the Bobble Sheep I moved on the project that excited me Lil’ Baby Unicorn and again the pattern is well written and easy to follow.

Good Friday

Tonight the cross stands empty,

and

the King of the Jews' body lays in a borrowed tomb.

Tomorrow is Saturday a day of rest.

There is nothing left to see here and all have gone home.

Some grieve alone hidden behind locked doors.

Others gather with family and talk about the days events in whispers, fearful of the days ahead.

And for still others the crucifixion has been forgot,
they have moved on with their lives and tomorrow is just another day.

How have the events of today affected you?

Grandma's Stash

child holding fabric scraps

“Grandma we need lots of fabric for our school art project, we are going to rip it into strips and I said you would help my class”
and with this simple declaration this grandma heart swelled with pride.

Not pride in myself or the quality of my grandparenting, pride in our family and our children.

In this competitive, put yourself first world, as a family we have passed on to the youngest members that as a unit we share resources, that we can count on each other, that we share, we are here for each other.

“I said you would help”

To us, family means putting your arms around each other and being there
~ Barbara Bush

How are you children/grandchildren acting on the values they are learning as a member of your family?
