Joy

Joy waits in plain sight.

This week has been one of frustration as my computer required resetting, stress as more changes were rolled out at work, physical pain with storm causing pressure changes and the ensuing headaches/migraines' and emotional depression "stop this treadmill called life I want to get off for just a few minutes!"

And in the midst of all this I was astonished by profound moments of joy!
I did not find joy, rather I was truly astonished to find that I could step away from my worry, pain, frustration and depression by being mindful of my surroundings.  When I stopped thinking about me and turned my attention outward there was joy.

I am now consciously  using this strategy of focusing outward - of being mindful of a single moment in time with my grandchildren.  Together we are practicing being mindful of the things around us.  Learning to turn off our minds and turn on our senses and natural intuition to be joyful in all things.

Mother Teresa Quote

How we see Jesus

Matthew 25: 34- 40

34 Then the King will say to those on the right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.

36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.'

37 "Then these righteous ones will reply, 'Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink?

38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? 39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you?'

40 And the King will tell them, 'I assure you, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!'

Once we take our eyes, away from ourselves, from our interests, from our own rights, privileges, ambitions - then they will become clear to see Jesus around us  ~ Mother Teresa

The only hands that God has here on Earth through which to comfort, feed and hold are ours.

What will your hands do today?
