Sunshine makes everything better

Sunshine, warm temperatures and refreshing breeze heralded the third day of summer.  My spirit just soars in the sunshine the world feels full of possibilities.

This morning we were greeted by the opening of one of our orchids, this orchid originally belonged to my mother a gift from her niece and we have been able to keep it blooming in memory of mother.

We arrived an hour early for church to weed the children's Three Sister Peace garden.

The beans and squash are thriving with some of the sweet corn making its way to the sunshine.  Clearly either our corn seed was not the best or our planting too deep or the rabbits have enjoyed it.

Inside the church Emma B. had brought a large bouquet of her pink peonies, I have photographed her offering of pink peonies for years they are so beautiful and Emma so gracious to share the gifts of her flower gardens with us.

Following church Paul and I headed to Barrie in search of lumbar hiking packs and lunch out.

The drive is very pleasant with farm vistas and rolling hills.

We stopped for lunch at Applebee’s and took advantage for their outdoor patio

My meal was good and clearly had sat under a heat lamp for too long with the gravy having developed a film on it.

After giving us our meals, our waiter did not return until we were almost finished and when I responded honestly his response was defensive and dismissive – I was very disappointed in this.

If people do not really want to know how we have experienced our meals, why do they ask?  My meal tasted good and should have been served to me sooner.

Paul’s meal was delicious and sizzling hot.  Thus, we spent a nice two hours eating and enjoying each others company.

Our next stop was Cabela’s where we did not find any lumbar hiking pack and did purchase tent stakes for our Clam Gazebo and we found a very compact coffee maker 6 cup for when our larger Coleman coffee maker wears out.

Do you have any suggestion where we might find lumbar hiking packs large enough to hold, a lunch, water and some clothing?

We arrived back home around 5:30 having had ice cream and I finished a pair of yoga socks for myself.

We hope you enjoy today's images
