Then there is too hot

Long hot hazy days of summer is the best way to describe waking up this morning.

We have closed all the drapes, shut all the windows to keep the heat out and the cool air from the basement circulating inside - that’s right we don’t have central air-conditioning.

Now I am not complaining we slept well last night and our home is comfortable to be in, however I do know that if this keeps up for much longer the temperature in our home will replicate the temperature outside and we will need to pull out the portable air conditioner and that thing makes a lot of noise.

One of my favourite things in the summer is the silence of summer evenings.

This morning instead of sitting outside in the sun with my morning coffee journaling, I’m sitting in the recliner in the dark living room.

The inside of our home feels like a cave on these hot summer days when we need to block the sun out.

My drive to yoga this morning was not long enough the air conditioning was just starting to cool me down when it was time to get out and enter the yoga studio – not air conditioned.

I had a wonderful work out despite the heat and left feeling energized for the day.

My drive to the Williamsford Pie Company in Williamsford Ontario was long enough to cool me down and once there I spent some time walking around.

The dam in Williamsford is a pretty spot to walk around with many stunning photo opportunities.

I enjoyed a very tasty sandwich lunch with a friend.  In the bakeshop fans did their best too cool off both the customers and bakers.

The Bakery is also the post office and as hot trays of delicious eats left the back kitchen you heard “Hot tray coming through”.  The post office is between the restaurant and the back kitchen.

And yes we both had pie.  I had a piece of wild blueberry and Emily peach.  The trip would have been worth the piece of pie alone.

Once home it was too hot to do anything but sit in the darkened house with fans blowing on us.  They are predicting a storm this evening and with it temperatures will drop.

At 7:00 pm as I write this the internal temperature of the house is 29C and humid.  Bring on the rain please!

Thank you for coming along.
