Another beautiful summer day

The day starts hot with a light breeze making the intense heat tolerable.

Our pantry was getting empty so off to the grocery store we went and, on the way, we enjoyed a cup coffee and McDonald’s air conditioning.

The shade offered by this maple trees was such a welcome sight of coolness where we sip water and stretch muscles.  Cities and towns need to plant more trees and position benches in the shade to encourage walking.

The wild Clover is in full bloom right now and I remember as children we would pull apart the purple flower heads and suck the sweet nectar out.

Guess what the nectar is as sweet as I remember.

The grocery store was busy this hot Thursday morning and we picked up the fresh fruits and vegetables that we could not purchase locally.

Next we stopped at a local vegetable and fruit stand and picked up locally grown items for our meal tomorrow.

We have a new restaurant in town they boast over 123 different flavours of wings.   Paul does not like wings, and I do hope the menu offers something other than wings – I would like to try Wow! Wing House.

It was 11:30 by the time we made it home and the breeze so refreshing this morning had disappeared.

The last leg of our trip home felt as hot as this picture looks.

I had a lunch date and as I headed out of town found myself waiting as the highway was reduced to a single lane for bridge repair.  I was comfortable in the car and my heart went out to these men and women working in the heat and the dust.

After lunch I decided to take the back roads home to avoid the construction and had a wonderful drive.

Yi Yang yoga at 4:00 was hot and I always feel wonderful after this workout.  Paul and I decided that salt and ice cream was just the ticket for supper.

The heat way is continuing into tomorrow, so we refreshed the water under our bird feeder to ensure the bunnies, birds and squirrels stay hydrated as they eat from our feeder.
