Today we found ourselves again sitting outside watching our
granddaughter riding in a fair. We sat
with many other parents and grandparents cheering our children on and consoling
them when their horses did not follow commands.
We all also watched as a young rider twisted in the saddle the and fall under her moving horse.
Then we all waited silent full of anxiety while her parents provided care. We all relaxed when we
could hear laughter from around the fallen child and then we quieted again as 911 and an ambulance was called for.
The young rider left in the ambulance and the meet continued with
parents and grandparents who had just been reminded that we all live in this
moment.
We pray for the young rider's recovery and give thanks that our
grandchild had an accident free ride.
