Long weekends are all about family and our weekend was spent
crafting with one of our granddaughters.
She designed a mermaid stuffy for herself. She spent at least 45 minutes pouring over Pinterest
images of mermaid stuffed dolls before she was ready to draw her pattern out on
one-inch graft paper. She was not sure
about this step and she was equally as unsure if all the pinning was necessary.
She looked at each bolt of fabric in Grandma's closet before she pick the fabric for the tail and she looked through Grandma bead jar until she found just what she wanted.
There were lessons learned along the way. First if a stray pin falls to the floor Grandpa will find it in his socks. Second make your pattern much bigger than your finished project. Third have a lot of fabric glue on hand for those hard to sew spots.
She did an amazing job and worked hard on her mermaid so it is
that on the holiday Monday we find ourselves cleaning up all of the bits and
pieces scattered around our home from our crafting weekend.
